A relationship that started on Instagram took a very dark turn, results in most breaking murder, which is appeared like sweet online romantic relationship transformed into the story of betrayal and fraud. A relationship that begun with love and hope ended in loss and heartbreak.
Lokanayaki- A Young Educator with Dreams and Determination :
- 30 years woman Lokanayaki from Thuraiyur in Trichy district, was lovingly called Albiya by her friends and neighbours. A well-educated postgraduate, she had a very bright future ahead and had been working hard as an online educator at an educational institution in Salem since 2023.
- Lokanayaki, who had lost her parents at a young age, had been staying with relatives while continuing her education and also resided in a private hostel which is close to Salem’s new bus stand, where she perfectly managed both her career and personal life.
No Trace of Lokanayaki: Hostel Staff Raise Alarm:
The Complication started when Lokanayaki didn’t come back to her hostel for the past four days. Her phone was also in the condition of not reachable and /or switch off. Which makes the hostel staffs suspicious because as per the hostel warden she never switches off her phone and will also update when she will return to hostel. Bothered, the warden informed her relatives and also immediately filed a missing case at the Pallipattu police station in 05 March 2025.
From Phone Records to Arrest: The Investigation Narrows”
- The police immediately started their investigation by analysing Lokanayaki’s phone records. And they found that she had been regularly communicating with a man named Abdul Afees, a 22-year-old computer science engineering graduate from Perambalur.
- The final call on her phone was made to him, suspecting him as the primary option. By using cell tower information, the police pinpointed,Abdul Afees’ tracked his location and took him into custody.
The Love Triangle: A Web of Deception
- Further investigations revealed a complicated and surprising past. Abdul Afees and Lokanayaki met on Instagram four years ago, and their online friendship grew into a strong and loving relationship.
- Gradually, they developed a deep bond with each other. Lokanayaki truly loved Abdul Afees, so she accepted Islam and changed her name to Albiya. This reflected her strong love and dedication to him and her wish to create a life together.
The Murder Plot: A Cold-Blooded Conspiracy
- Fearing the consequences of Lokanayaki’s threats, Abdul Afees and Kaviya Sultana made a cruel plan to get rid of her. They involved Monisha, Abdul Afees’ ex-girlfriend and a 22-year-old medical student from Thuraiyur in Trichy district.
- Monisha was deceived into thinking that Lokanayaki had murdered a relative with a bottle and that they had to take revenge.
The Aftermath: Justice Served?
- The brutal murder of Lokanayaki sent shockwaves through the community. Two postgraduate women—Kaviya Sultana and Monisha—and a postgraduate man, Abdul Afees, are now behind bars, awaiting trial. Their lives, once filled with promise, have been irrevocably altered by their involvement in this heinous crime.
- On march 1.2025 three people travelled to Salem by bike, rented a car and went to lokanayaki’s hostel which is near to Salem bus stand. After introducing Kaviya and Monisha to Lokayanaki, they brainwashed her to go with them to Yercaud. Near the 60-foot bridge on the Yercaud road, Abdul Afees and Kaviya restrained Lokanayaki while Monisha administered a toxic sedative. Afterward, they discarded her motionless body into a 20-foot-deep ravine before fleeing the scene.
